Open Spaces Collective builds public open space for councils and state government: parks, reserves, foreshores and plazas, delivered as one contract that covers earthworks, paths, walls, lighting, furniture, native planting and the establishment period after handover.
One contractor from set-out to handover
A park is a string of trades that each depend on the one before. Levels have to be right before the path goes down, the conduit has to be in before the path is poured, and the soil has to be right before anything is planted. When those trades are split across contractors, the gaps between them become the delays and the defects.
We carry the whole sequence under one contract, so there is one program, one site team and one point of contact for the superintendent.
Built for the people who will use it
Public open space is used by everyone, which means it has to work for everyone: accessible grades and surfaces, lighting that makes a path feel safe after dark, shade where people actually sit, and planting that survives being walked past every day.
Where a design allows it, we look for ways to bring Traditional Custodians into the project early, paid and on their terms, so that any cultural story a site tells is theirs to tell.
Handover is not the finish line
Native planting takes a full growing season or more to establish. We price and program the establishment period as part of the job, with watering, weeding, replacement of losses and formative pruning, so the park a council accepts is the park it keeps.

Can Open Spaces Collective deliver a whole park under one contract?
Yes. We deliver public open space as a single package covering earthworks, hard landscaping, paths, lighting, furniture installation, native planting and the establishment period, so councils deal with one contractor and one program.
Do you work from a landscape architect’s design?
Usually, yes. Most public open space is tendered on a design prepared by a landscape architect or the council’s own team. We build to that documentation and raise buildability or supply issues early, before they become variations.
Do you include maintenance after handover?
We program an establishment and defects period into every planting job, typically covering watering, weeding and replacing losses, because native plantings need at least a season to establish.
