Open Spaces Collective plants native garden beds, grasslands and revegetation for public land, growing stock with Aralumbin Nursery and the planned Namabunda Farm nursery on Bundjalung Country, and carrying the establishment period so plantings survive past handover.
The plants come from the collective’s own nurseries
Our stock is grown by Aralumbin Nursery at Dungay, which is operating now, and will increasingly come from the nursery being built at Namabunda Farm, on land owned by the Bundjalung Tribal Society near Alstonville.
Where a project needs local provenance, the collective can grow to order from seed collected in the same catchment. That needs lead time, so tell us early.
Right plant, right place
A native planting fails when it is planted into the wrong soil, the wrong aspect or the wrong season. We check the species list against the site’s vegetation community, soil and drainage before we order, and we plant in the window that gives the stock its best start.
Establishment is part of the job
We water, weed, replace losses and report on survival through the establishment period, so the planting the council inherits is growing rather than surviving.

Do you guarantee plant survival?
We carry an establishment period on every planting contract, covering watering, weeding and replacing losses, and we report survival rates to the client through that period.
