Lighting decides whether a park gets used after dark
People judge a path at night by whether they can see who is ahead of them. Good public lighting is even rather than bright, avoids glare and dark gaps, and keeps light out of the sky and out of the habitat around it.
Public lighting in Australia is designed to AS/NZS 1158. We build to the lighting designer’s layout and that standard, and we raise it early if a pole position clashes with a tree root zone or a service.
Civil and electrical together
The expensive mistakes in park lighting are civil ones: conduit that is missing, pits in the wrong place, footings that fight the path. We build the civil works for lighting with the path and coordinate the electrical fit-off in the same program.
